The Nexus filtration system has revolutionised the way Koi Carp ponds are filtered.

The Nexus is a cleverly combined newly designed vortex and biological filter creating an effective high-performance filtration system delivering superb water quality for ponds up to 29,500 litres (6500 UK Gallons). - 300 model or 18,160 litres (4000 gallons) - 200 model. The Eazypod is the smallest model in the range (shown right) at 23" high and diameter and yet will superbly filter Koi ponds of up to 2,200 gallons

The Nexus is an integrated filtration system which provide Koi keepers with premium mechanical and biological performance at an affordable price and in one package.

Above is shown the new Nexus Eazy Vortex prefilter system which consists of a 316 stainless steel enclosure and specially adapted  central exit pipe.  This is filled with static Kaldnes when operational and provides a superb and cost effective mechanical filter.  This prefilter comes complete with 45 litres of Kaldnes in the 300 model and 35 litres in the 200 model.  The Eazy prefilter features a pressurised air purge system so that the chamber can simply be backwashed and cleaned in minutes, with no media removal and minimum fuss. The Eazy prefilter is fitted as standard to 200 and 300 models on both gravity and pump fed models. Static Kaldnes traps very fine solids exceptionally well and the new Eazy prefilter therefore stops fine solids which pass through the Vortex from entering the main Kaldnes bio chamber and water clarity is dramatically improved. The Nexus Eazy a standard part of the new Nexus 200 and 300 models but can also be ordered separately and retro fitted to both 200 and 300 Nexus models.

The Kaldnes 'moving bed process',  is included with all Nexus and Eazypod models. This uniquely designed media provides amazing water quality, especially when it has reached full maturity. Kaldnes bio-media is maintenance-free, allowing the biomass to fully mature, which maximises its effectiveness and creates constant parameters.

The picture above shows the Outlet of a Nexus fitted with the final chamber water polisher kit which is filled with static Kaldnes K1, and a pressurised air backwash system.

 Nexus filters are compact units which can be supplied as pump or gravity-fed models. With a small footprint, they can be fitted into the smallest garden. For gravity fed systems, smaller excavation is required thus  savings can be achieved when building your pond.

The highly-durable rotor-moulded unit with a thick wall construction makes the Nexus a sturdy robust unit designed to last. The Nexus comes complete with Kaldnes K1 media, (85 Litres in the 200 and 145 Litres in the 300), discharge valves, and all appropriate connection fittings. Both discharge valves are located together for easy access.

The  Nexus 200 and 300 gravity units can also be fitted with an air purged post mechanical fines filter in the final exit chamber, (see left) which is filled with static Kaldnes K1, and will provide that final polish to your pond water. This fines filter can also be retrofitted to any existing  Nexus gravity model.

The all new Eazy pod filter comes complete with Kaldnes based pre filter and is suitable for ponds up to 2,200 gallons (10000 litres) as a complete filter and can also be fitted as a skimmer pre filter and water polisher on larger ponds.  The new Eazypod start gives you all the benefits of the Eazypod but for a tiny extra cost includes a 70 lpm air pump, airline, manifold and air stones - fantastic value for money!

The Filtration Process.
At the first filtration stage, the vortex can also be enhanced with the addition of the Nexus Eazy pre filter or Answer 410 or 325. The Nexus Eazy utilises static Kaldnes K1 to substantially improve mechanical filtration and is easily backwashed in minutes using the pressurised air system provided. The Answer is a self-backwashing fine-screen filter, which is low maintenance and gives you excellent water quality. The water is then passed through to the bio filter, and finally passes through a fines filter stage to polish the water further before being returned to the pond. The Kaldnes K1 moving bed process requires a minimum 40 litre per minute air pump for which we recommend the Secoh range.
