Rapid health is one of those amazing products that we love.  It is a natural combination of beneficial bacteria and enzymes that when added to your pond water do two important things.  Firstly as a probiotic product it will reduce the population of pathogenic bacteria in the pond environment by removing their food source.  The added major benefit of any truly probiotic product, is that it also boosts the immune system of pond fish.

Added to these two important benefits, Rapid health also speeds up and enables more rapid healing of skin and tissue damage after either a physical injury or as a result of damage caused by ulceration. This avoids the need in most cases for catching the affected fish to treat individually and we have found the results  after using Rapid Health to be consistently very good.

Fluke-Solve™ is the result of in-depth research by veterinary fish experts who have recognised the need for ornamental fish keepers to have access to high quality veterinary pharmaceutical products which are both safe and effective.

The active ingredient in Fluke-Solve™ is praziquantel which has been used in a range of fish species for the control of a variety of fish parasites since the early 1990's, with specific studies in carp for cestode (tapeworm) infestations as well as ectoparasites such as monogean trematodes, or flukes.

Extensive trials have shown no toxic effect of Praziquantel on the natural wildlife of the pond.
Effective at temperatures as low as 3˚C!! One simple treatment is all that is required for adult flukes and larvae, with a second dose a couple of weeks later to take care of any hatching eggs.

Lice-solve is a specially developed unique formulation containing emamectin for the treatment of external parasites such as Argulus (fish lice) and Ergasilus (gill maggot) in ornamental fish including Koi.

Emamectin was originally developed for the control of sea lice in farmed salmonids by oral administration. Lice-solve has been specifically developed for the hobbyist, and its easy-to-use formulation means that fish can be treated by immersion in the product. It can be used directly into the pond or tank where the fish are kept, or fish can be moved into a separate treatment tank for the treatment period. Make sure that the water is well oxygenated during treatment.

Repeat treatment after one month to ensure developed eggs are killed.

Use once a year as a routine treatment to prevent the build-up of parasites such as Argulus and Ergasilus, and to take care of the parasites or their eggs overwintering.

Tamodine is a special form of Iodine used to clean and topically treat wounds on Koi. Will destroy bacteria present in wounds and assist with rapid healing. Use with a sealer such as Propolis (below) and may be used with other topical treatments such as our Koi Clear Gel (above).

Anaesthetise the Koi in the normal way, dry the affected area and apply with a cotton bud or similar.

Formalin is an aggressive  bactericide and when used in conjunction with Malachite Green (above) forms an effective parasite treatment.  Use as recommended by manufacturer. Should not be used with Salt at more than 1/2 oz per gallon. Use only with Malachite Green. Do not use under 12.5 deg C (54 deg F)

Warning - this chemical is extremely toxic. Never overdose this chemical.

Used to keep koi calm and sedated  when topically treating, inspecting or taking skin scrapes.

Dose 5 - 10 ml per gallon.

Propolis is produced by the honey Bee as a natural by-product of honey production.  Over the past 20 years or so International research has proven that Propolis can boost the immune system of animals (and humans) to prevent and fight infectious diseases.  Propolis has amazing anti-bacterial properties and it is also believed that bacteria are unable to develop immunity to Propolis and products based on propolis are now increasingly used in human health care products.

Propolis in liquid form is added to koi food and 250ml will treat up to 25kg.  Great for treating wounds round the mouth (including inside!) and the eyes of your koi, where other treatments would be dangerous to use.  Can even be used as a bath.  Sticks to wet mucus far better than ANYTHING available today - and that's a fact,  not a sales claim!  The research has shown that Propolis is effective against a range of bacteria, fungi and even viral infection, and it is known that Propolis stimulates the formation of antibodies to the immune system and is rich in vitamin A, B complex, E and flavenoids. (Foods containing flavenoids have been shown to reduce cell damage and disease in Humans)

Our Propolis is sold in its raw form, and is NOT diluted with unnecessary solvent, (with the exception of the spray form) so is very effective as a topical treatment and a little goes a long way. Please note that the spray variant is diluted in order to get it to atomise properly - in this form it is an ideal topical treatment where wounds have just started to heal, and helps avoid damage to new tissue formation.
