Fabulous Jumbo Tosai Tategoi Showa from Marudoh

For those of you who don't know Tanaka, it a very common name in Japan, so there are lots of them! This is Maruju Tanaka in Mushigame, who specialises in Tancho, Gin Rin Tancho and Goromo. This Spring we are fortunate enough to have secured the purchase of a good number of his Tateshita Tancho and Goromo. These are high grade Tosai which are rarely available and at realistic prices for such high grade Koi.

Kazuto is recognised as one of Japans top Go Sanke breeders with his Sansai (three year old) Koi regularly achieving £20,000 plus price tags. Jumbo Tosai Tategoi Go Sanke from Kazuto are always very special.  Last year's Tosai have been culled more frequently to produce less, but higher grade and much bigger 'Jumbo' Tosai.  An average Tosai is around 15cm at this time of the year, Kazuto's Jumbos can achieve 50cm!  Quality has not been compromised and these Go Sanke are, and will continue to be some of the very best available anywhere in Japan.

Hiroi Specialises in Goshiki, Gin Rin Goshiki and Doitsu Go Sanke. He is a relatively small farm, with limited stocks so visiting at a time when he has high grade babies available is always a lottery. This year our timing has been perfect for him. We have both high grade Nisai and Tosai on offer.

Torazo is probably a more familiar name to some of you, he is the oldest established Go Sanke breeder in Niigata, and this year we have purchased two boxes of Jumbo Tosai Tateshita Tancho, Showa and Kohaku from him. Super quality and sensible prices.

Marudoh is now one of the biggest and most famous Go Sanke breeders in Niigata, his farm has grown steadliy and the quality of his Koi are superb, if sometimes very expensive. Again however, and purely a matter of timing, we have been able to purchase Jumbo Tosai Tateshita Showa at 35cm which are truly the best Showa we have ever had the opportunity to purchase at this size/price combination.
