Lanterns. These top quality Japanese lanterns are carved from solid salt & pepper granite, The quality of carving and manufacture is such that we promise that once seen, you will never look at another 'moulded concrete' imitation at a garden centre! All lanterns are made to authentic Japanese designs which can still be seen today at temples all over Japan. Handling these lanterns may require more than one person, as some weigh up to 400kgs, although all come in separate pieces and can therefore be moved much more easily.

| Kasuga The Kasuga has a Pagoda style 'kasa' or hat and a side panel featuring the image of a deer. Kasuga lanterns are usually placed in a prominent position near a gate, entrance or path intersection. They are named after an ancient Kasuga shrine in Nara, Japan. The Kasuga is carved from salt & pepper grey granite and are available in 4 different heights, to suit the type and size of garden and location. They are pre-drilled for lighting cables to be fitted.

| Rankei The Rankei lantern is usually sited to overlook the waters edge to create a beautiful reflected image in the water. It features an offset base with square curved lantern support, lantern base, hexagonal lantern with diagonal lattice work, roof piece and cap. Not drilled for cables. The Rankei features intricate and beautiful carved granite window frames in the lantern head and cap and would be perfect located near the edge of a pond or stream. |

| Kotoji The Kotoji lantern has twin legs that are said to resemble the tuning forks of the Japanese musical instrument the Koto. Usually one leg is placed in the water and one in the surrounding ground contrasting the differences between land and water. Not drilled for cables.

Guide Stones The Miyoshi and Mishi-Shrube classic Japanese guide stones are normally placed at entrances to a pathway. Both these guide stones come predrilled for light fittings to be installed and with wooden window frames which can be lined with Shoji paper if required. The Mishi-Shrube comes with an opaque acrylic window panel as standard.
